Christmas Party cupcakes

I made these for a neighbor's Christmas party that we went to. They are similar to some previous cupcakes that I made which I really liked. In addition to the snowflakes, I added the holly. Chocolate cupcakes (raspberry filling), vanilla buttercream icing, chocolate fondant shapes with royal icing piping.

Christmas Cookies!!!

I love making Christmas cookies, and I always want to do more than I have time to...
There are some repeats from before, and some new ones this year.

These are gingerbread snowflakes. I have done this design for the past couple years, and I just really like it. Simple white on white, with cake sparkles.
These are similar to some Christmas trees that I did a couple years ago. Kind of stylized and kind of fun.

I was browsing at a local store and saw this 'Joy' cookie cutter and just HAD to buy it. I guess that I'm in that sort of mood this year! The skinny tree cutter was in a bag of cutters that were my grandmother's and it brings me joy to use it!

After seeing so many pretty cookies made with stencils, I finally broke down and bought a couple sets. I just love them.

I saw a cake on CakeCentral with this design and was enamored immediately. (I'm a sucker for the partridge in a pear tree theme). I made some similar cakes, and thought it would make a beautiful cookie.

These are the same snowmen that I have done, but this year I dusted the scarves with sugar and it gave them great texture (frosty and fuzzy). Thanks to another Cookie friend on CakeCentral. (oh, and this was another weak moment at a store. Two years ago I found this set of cutters in the dollar bin at Target - they get me every time!!!)

This was a design that I did last year too. I wanted a cute and different Santa. I found this online.

These are my sort of famous snowmen. I have done these the past couple years too. The story here was that I had committed to bringing cookies to a family gathering. We were staying with my sister and I didn't have much equipment. I love snowmen, so when I saw a cookie a little like this I made a plan. I used one of my sister's glasses to cut rounds and voila! This year I did them on sugar cookies and chocolate cookies. I like the dark cookie border on these.

Just more cookies.

tasty Winter Wednesday

A winter treat for my brother-in-law. I wanted to come up with something quick and pretty, since I didn't have a lot of time. I really liked how these came out, especially for "just making it up as I went along."

Vanilla and chocolate cake with vanilla, chocolate-hazelnut, and raspberry buttercream filling. Vanilla buttercream and chocolate ganache icing.Chocolate fondant with royal icing snowflakes and white chocolate fondant chocolate snowflakes.

surprisingly yummy little toppers! (not that I thought that they would taste bad, but I thought that they were yummy enough to stand alone :)

little snowmen cupcakes

little snowmen for some winter cupcakes. just something "quick" - well that's what I thought. fondant/gumpaste figures always take longer than I estmate!
Vanilla white cake with raspberry buttercream filling, and vanilla buttercream icing. Royal icing snowflakes, and blue sanding sugar.
