Adoption Shower

These were for a shower for the parents of two adopted children (boy and a girl). The theme was 'frogs and butterflies.' Mini cookies and mini chocolate cupcakes (Royal icing on fondant).

what can I say but that I ADORE these bright colors! something about color just puts a smile on my face every time!

Italian 50th Anniversary Cake

Golden anniversary cake for a special couple of Italian heritage. Their daughter ordered the cake with a painted design from Florence. It had accents of gold all through it. (There was also a gold piece that went in the top not pictured here)

I loved doing the painting, and I especially loved using my gold dust!

Indiana State Fair 2010 - 1st Place!

These are my fair entries for this year. I entered the wedding cake - professional division, and the decorated cookies.

My plan was to do a lot more piping, as it seemed last time the judges wanted to see that.

I wasn't sure what my design was going to be, I just started using the things that I love... my polka-dot base, my stencils, bows, my new flowers cutters....
I did love it when it was done.
So did the judges - 1st place & Sweepstakes (1st overall)!!!

The cookies were a total after thought. I knew that I wanted to do some, but I got really into my cake and was running out of time for the cookies.
The fair theme this year was the 'Year of the Pig.' I found some cute clip art online and a photo of my mom's weather vane.
