First Communion

7" Chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream.

This was for a great neighbor's son on his First Holy Communion.

He's obviously a huge basketball fan, so the trick was incorporating that into a cake for First Communion. I wasn't sure how I was going to do this, but I loved it when it was done!

(and kuddos to my husband for suggesting the basketball net around the outside of the cake!)

Chica Boutiqua

This is me at Chica Boutiqua (put on by a friend of a friend, Kathy Wood - thank you!).



Here are some of my cookies, all packaged up. (on my favorite MacKenzie-Childs Spencer plates!!!)



and here are my cupcakes and cakes. I just love the way the cakes look boxed up. I make vanilla cupcakes the first day, and since they sold out, I made chocolate cupcakes for the second day.





This is the last cake that I made for the second day. I was inspired by my tulips in my garden. I really liked this cake.

The rest are photos of closeups of my cookies that I made for the event. My butterfly cookies were something that I wanted to do after my turkey cookies came out so fun last fall. My flower cookie was inspired by the awesome TracyLH
The soccer cookies were also a blend of the Tracy's work as well as Sweet Sugar Belle.

Theta Seniors

These cookies were for graduating girls in the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority at Purdue.

(their symbols are the pansy and kite, and the colors are obvious)

I think this was a sweet idea: the customer had me put the names of each girl on the cookies and then a second set for all the moms (and dads).

Happy Birthday to my daughter!
My daughter wanted Tinker Bell for her party. This is the cake that I made for her - not the one that I had planned on, but things happen...

I forgot to get a "Tinker Bell topper" so I painted one on fondant.
I love painting on fondant, but I haven't gotten the food-color-paint consistency down yet.

Miami Dolphins Bride

Bridal shower cupcakes for a bride that loves the Miami Dolphins. (those dolphin tails kept breaking on me!!!)
Vanilla and chocolate cake with raspberry filling and cream cheese frosting.
